Beautiful Day

Jesus did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.  --Matthew 20.28

Beautiful Day is a day we take to serve in our communities through different projects helping to make our neighbors' day, and the city around us, a little more beautiful. It started as a movement around the Bay Area to empower people to service and bless the very community that they live in through service, compassion, justice, and blessing. Since Jesus "did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many" (Matthew 20.28), we figure to be a Christian means to do the same.

On Beautiful Day, we usually gather together in the morning for some coffee and donuts, say a prayer, and head out to serve. We have provided dumpsters for our community, visited people in rest homes, partnered to fix bikes in our neighborhood, and cleaned up various houses, yards, and sites along the creeks, to name a few things.

If you have any ideas for projects or know of needs in the community, or you would like to join us on our next Beautiful Day, let us know!
